Lukashenko congratulated Belarusians on Easter: values of Christianity bring generations closer, being the basis for Belarusian people’s unity

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent congratulations to the Orthodox Christians of Belarus on Easter, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

In his sincere congratulation on the Easter holiday, the President said, “It embodies the triumph of life over death, the victory of good over evil, humility and self-sacrifice over permissiveness and selfishness. The light of the Easter days reminds us of the eternal evangelical ideals of forgiveness and compassion, love and caring for others.”

As noted by the Head of State, together with the Holy Resurrection of Christ, spring is being reborn and awakening, the hearts of believers are getting filled with harmony and tranquillity. “The ringing of the bells of the Orthodox Church symbolises the triumph of the true values of Christianity on our land, which bring generations closer together and serve as the basis for the unity of the Belarusian people,” he said.

“May God's grace touch your souls and warm your homes, and family meetings will bring happiness and joy,” Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed Orthodox Christians, wishing them peace, harmony and good health.
